Fantastic Array of Talent
What an unforgettable evening it was. Each act brought a special musical entertainment level to the event. The exceptional groundwork for the last and final parts was laid in the early part of the concert. Dar Williams, the young woman, was a surprise as I had not heard of her, but will be buying her music from now on. Amazing Grace rendition by Jennifer Warms gelled the entire audience with the message of respect and understanding. Spectacular were Mexicale, home grown. It only got better from there. Surprising were Crosby and Nash on. Their voices and guitar production were a true reminder of why they were and always have been at the top. Nils Lofgren was spectacular, as were all of the other acts. A tremendous balance of variety.
Storm allowed the Sun to shine !
Our family chose this particular game because of the match-up involving so many great Uconn players on both teams. Also the Storm is the best team in the league and the game could have been a "championship" of sorts especially if the Sun don't make the playoffs, or make it to the finals.
However, the best players on the Storm only played part of the first quarter, sitting out the rest of the game. If not for the "Abrosimova show" (Svet played all of the last 3 quarters), the game would have been totally dull and without competitiveness. The Sun did not win the game so much as the Storm gave them the game. This is not good for any sport but especially not for the struggling WNBA.
Market the sport better, pay the players more, they deserve it. Women's ball thrives overseas !
